Awards Banquet

Invitations for the Banquet have been sent out and returned. The Milligan's are catering the meal and I can assure you it will be good food. We got a taste of it last Friday night at the Long's house. The Banquet will take place in the cafeteria at 6:00 this Friday. Should be a ton of fun! See ya!

6th Grade End of Season Party!

Heath and Jennifer Long are hosting a 6th Grade party at their home this Friday, Feb. 27th at 6:30 p.m. A note was sent home to all students last Friday. Food will be provided by the Milligan's. RSVP Jennifer at 273-3815 so they will know how much food to prepare.

Directions:

From Hilltop, take Hwy 351 N until you reach K8 Road. Take a left on K8 road. Take a right on CR 751 (1st gravel road to the right). They are the last house on the left.

ASU Game & Banquet

ASU Game this Sunday at 2:05. Don't forget to show up...I have tickets for all the players. Hopefully, everyone received a note from school and signed up so we know who's coming.

4th Graders are meeting at CeCe's Pizza at 12:30 Sunday on behalf of one of the parents. After we stuff ourselves, we'll head over to the game.

Also, invitations to the Awards Banquet will be handed out this weekend...probably at the game. I'm printing them off today.

Season didn't end for every team like I had wished, but we have a lot to be proud of. Check it out!

I'll take that any season! Great job ladies! We still have some events coming up so stay plugged in with the blog. Awards Banquet, pizza parties, ASU game...I'll post information when everything is confirmed. ASU Players

Sorry, I never got any pictures posted from the ASU player visit day until now. The ice storm put me behind. 6th grade...see you Saturday at noon in Harrisburg. Get there a little early. Also, open gym this Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 for all 3 grades. If 6th grade wins Saturday we will all play Monday night. 6th grade game may actually be Tuesday night...we'll find out tomorrow at the tournament. Not mandatory Sunday, but it will be a good opportunity to work on your shot for the tournament. Later!

Crazy Week!`

I just got power last night around 7:00...very excited about that! The tournament that was supposed to start Saturday has been moved to this coming Saturday...the 7th. All game times will remain the same but it will start this Saturday.

6th grade:
Saturday at 12:00

5th grade:
Next Monday at 7:00

4th grade:
Next Monday at 6:00.

Remember, all games at Harrisburg.

As soon as I get a practice schedule it will be sent home with the girls.

Rivercrest Game

Coach from Rivercrest called yesterday to confirm game for this Saturday. 4th & 5th grade both play and 1st game starts at 10:00 in the old gym. I don't know who they have played or what their record is. Come ready!

I'm trying to schedule a game for next Tuesday. Marked Tree and Ridgefield were both contacted. Marked Tree said they already have a game scheduled and I'm still waiting on a response from Ridgefield. I'll let you know if anything develops.

Practice Schedule

With the exception of the Saturday game against Rivercrest (4th & 5th only) we will have the next 2 weeks off, meaning games. Some players have expressed an interest in scheduling a game next week. That might not be a bad idea...keep us from getting too rusty. I'll let you know if anything develops. The meeting to determine seeds and brackets will be on the 25th. I'll post that info. after the meeting. The district tournament won't actually start until the 31st. Here's the schedule for the week:

Tuesday night at 6:30-7:30 old gym-6th grade practice

Wednesday 3:30-4:30 old gym--4th & 5th practice.

Friday immediately after school...all 3 grades need to be in the old gym. Bring your practice gear and be ready for a surprise. Parents, don't let your child miss Friday! Practice will be very light.

Miscellaneous Stuff

*Called the coach from Marmaduke this morning and confirmed the games for tonight. Come ready to play!

*5th grade undefeated! 5th grade had their last conference game Tuesday night against Bay. We play Caraway this Saturday but they don't have a 5th grade team. So, 5th grade is officially 10-0 in the conference.

*ASU game against Denver on Sunday, Feb. 22nd at 2:00. Hopefully, everyone got a note at the game Tuesday. I bought tickets for all 37 girls so we can attend the game on Feb. 22nd. Parents, you can purchase tickets at the ASU box office or order on-line. (cheaper at the box office...no mailing fee.) We are seated in section RR. My experience at ASU women's games is once you're in the building and the game starts you can migrate down a little lower. They never sell-out so there should be alot of empty seats. So, don't worry about not being able to sit with your child...shouldn't be a problem. Tickets about $6.00 for upper and $8.00 for lower. Also, we'll give more info. as the game approaches.

*End of the year banquet coming sometime in February. Athletes in all 3 grades and parents will be invited. Awards, slideshow, stuff like that. Still working on details.

*Coaches meeting on Sunday, Jan. 25th at 3:00 to determine seeds and make brackets. I'll post that info. asap. Here's my guess...4th grade #1 (undefeated if we win at caraway saturday)...5th grade #1 seed...6th grade #3 seed (9-3 if we win saturday at caraway).

*Surprise coming late next week. That's all I'm saying.

*4th game for Jan. 10th was cancelled and I'm leaving the ball in their hands. If they call to reschedule we'll do it but I'm not taking the lead.

*Same with Rivercrest. We play them on the 24th at home and we might go to their place but again...leaving it in their hands. It's only fair to play 1 at our place and 1 at their place.

Time Change

We have Marmaduke tomorrow night at home starting at 6:00. The time change is for the Caraway game this Saturday. The schedule is wrong...it has us playing Caraway at home Saturday. If you remember, we played them at our place the 1st time since they had a conflict at their place. So, we play Caraway at Caraway this Saturday and the games will be 4th at 12:00 and 6th at 1:00. They don't have a 5th grade team. The reason we're starting at 12:00 is because our boys will be playing Caraway at 9:00, 10:00 & 11:00. Sorry for the mix-up.

Busy Week!

We have 3 games this week and it's Homecoming week for Brookland. The good thing is, 2 of the games are at home. Remember, you can always check the sidebar schedule at the right. However, I understand not everybody does that so here it is:

This week:

Tuesday: Bay at Home. All three teams play...starting at 6:00.
Thursday: Marmaduke at Home. All three teams play...starting at 6:00.
Saturday: At Caraway. 4th & 6th only...starting at 9:00 a.m.

4th Grade Practice

4th grade will practice this Friday immediately after school in the old gym. Practice will end around 4:15. Our next game is Saturday at Harrisburg but they only have 5th & 6th grade teams. Next 4th grade game is Tuesday, so let's take this opportunity to improve in some areas. Don't forget to bring your practice gear to school Friday. A note will be sent home today. 5th & 6th...no practice. I'll see you at Harrisburg Saturday.

Tonight's games are cancelled!

Coach from Rivercrest just called and cancelled the games for tonight. We are supposed to go to their place on the 24th of this month. We will play those games at our place since he cancelled and try to schedule a game at his place when we can decide on a date. So, since we have a free night...let's practice.

Happy New Year!

I hope all of you ladies have enjoyed your Christmas Break. I haven't posted much since we haven't had any ballgames. I needed a break from blogging I guess. I always enjoy a good break but near the end I'm ready to get back in the swing of things. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hopefully, we'll see you at practice in the old gym tomorrow.
